smart people understand that climate change is happening much faster than we were led to believe. computing power has reached the point where
simulations can be done to predict the human consequences of climate change. the oligarchs KNOW that when the full effects of climate change
are felt, by sheer force of misery and numbers, the non-rich will be able to demand and obtain change that will not be favorable to the oligarchs. as a consequence of the foregoing, the oligarchs are "trying to get ahead of the problem". I've often thought about why russia remains so globally consequential...nukes notwithstanding. could it be their location having vast high latitude territories that may provide safe haven for the ultra rich when the rest of the world burns? let me just say metaphorically, if a spaceship full of the ultra-rich people seeks to leave a dying planet, it must not be allowed to leave. if our goose is cooked, i will work diligently to see their goose is burned.
