It's fairly true to the novel but in the book it's much more nuanced. Goldfinger uses every cheat in the world but Bond wins of course.
The novel by Ian Fleming are quite remarkable. Bond isn't the super hero as in the films. The first 3 or 4 films were closest to the novels. But by the fifth film, the writers were injecting so much humor that the stories lost their threatening villainess. Still, they're fun.
