24. The state Constitution of South Carolina set the Age of Consent at 14.

Article III, section 33, specified that no unmarried woman could legally consent to sexual intercourse unless she had attained the age of 14.

In 2008, an amendment to the constitution was narrowly passed (with 47.61% of voters rejecting it) to make the age 16.
