And ICE agents are thugs and no one who has the power is doing anything about it. I read the other day that people get a $50,000 bonus to join ICE. And they get to beat up people for fun. Who wouldn't want that job? /sarc

I'm glad my aunt, who lived to a very old age, died before this happened. She lived in the US as a resident with a green card, for many decades. Today, ICE agents would rough her up and toss her in a cage. My mother was a naturalized citizen. She also lived to an old age. This could have happened to her, too.

The maternal side of my family is German. Except for my mother and my aunt, they all live in Germany. They were young children during WW2 and it's aftermath. Both had serious PTSD, not only from the war, but also from the Russians taking over when the war ended. From that alone, ICE would have terrified them, even if no one came for them. The Russians were brutal when they took over East Germany. ICE is brutal. Enough said.
