1. I read a claim a few days ago.

It was late, I was bushed, and so I didn't rummage to check the BLS to see if the claim was statistics justified or not.

The claim was something like the number of non-native born workers declined by over 1 million in the last 3 months; the number of native born workers rose by more than 300k.

If true--notice the contingency there, that 'if'--then it's not tariffs that iced the labor market but, aptly enough, ICE.

Claims are cheap that might just be another baseless claim. On the other hand, it's one that should be easily checkable and one that agrees with what a lot of media reports have been saying--immigrant workers are keeping their heads down and just not going to work.
