Members of a group called "Pastors on Patrol" believe they do belong there, and they will walk the hallways of Pine Bluff schools to encourage students to follow their lessons.
"We believe that these Commandments will represent that to create positive behavior, kids learning how to treat each other, learning how to respect your parents, learning how not to pick up a gun and kill someone, said Jesse Turner, President of the Pine Bluff Faith Community Coalition.
While Pine Bluff High School is under construction, Pastor Turner visited the temporary high school, Jack Robey Junior High School, ready to put posters of the Ten Commandments in place.
We're here today to place these focuses on the wall for these scholars, because we believe that positive word will reduce negative behavior, and just the presence and reading of it will reduce negative behavior, said Pastor Turner.
Pine Bluff High School principal Dr. Ronald Laurent welcomed the pastors on campus today.
Pastors on patrol are donating copies of the Ten Commandments so that we can post them in our building, said Laurent.
