General Discussion
In reply to the discussion: The DNC has finally broken my ability to give [View all]I usually only donate to candidates I know anyway, important specific races excepted, obviously.
But I retired from the online/credit card game many years ago. Some races are really crucial (e.g. Jon Ossoff next year), and Im not OK with a couple of hundred dollars of my contribution going to some processing fee instead of Jons campaign. Its bad enough that I have to earn four times in salary the amount that I make as a non-tax-deductible contribution (its easier if you live in the USA). But to send a check costs the price of a stamp. Thats 78 cents in the States or 1.25 in Germany, and the postal services dont sell my address to contribution solicitors calling me Deborah and imploring me to step up.
Its pretty obvious that Nancy Pelosi is not letting me know that she needs just 15 more $25 donations from my zip code to cure cancer and flip the House by next weekend.
