Trump's 'Golden Bust' Pins 'Mandatory' For Loyalists, Cabinet Members? Claim Surfaces

A claim has gone viral on social media that says President Donald Trump has made golden lapel pins depicting his bust mandatory for cabinet members and his loyalists. The claim surfaced with an April 9, 2025, post on Substack by Canadian sports Dean Blundell on Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr wearing the 'Trump golden bust.' However, despite Carr being spotted wearing the golden bust, there is no reports to suggest that it has been made 'mandatory.'

The post on the Substack, by Blundell, a prominent Canadian sports writer, did not substantiate the claim that the golden bust lapel pins of the President have been made mandatory for cabinet ministers and loyalists. It is likely that Brendan Carr wore the Trump golden pin on his own accord, without any order from Trump, or his administration.

The article by Dean Blundell, talks about how the lapel pin mandate is similar to Mao Tse Tung's China and compares Trump to a dictator. He claimed that Trump's cabinet members and loyalists are being asked to 'quietly ditch' their Senate lapel pins and wearing the Trump golden busts as a 'form of loyalty test.'

"Loyalists in the regime—congressmen, senators, the whole parade of sycophants—are now sporting golden Trump bust lapel pins, a garish little tribute to the man who’s turned the White House into a shrine to himself," he writes. "They’ve been quietly told to ditch their congressional or Senate pins in favor of this new badge of allegiance. It’s not a suggestion; it’s a loyalty test."
