29. It's difficult to argue they won't try

There’s no law, statute, tradition, or norm they won’t delegitimize, bully, or attack when it suits them. I once believed the system could withstand his assaults until I saw him wield the nation’s loudest bullhorns, dictating to the public what their opinions should be.

I thought we’d learned our lesson. Instead, the lowest common denominators, bankrolld by the rich and foolish were elected, and have persuaded millions that ignorance is not only equal to reason, but superior to it, because it delivers simple, shallow answers fast that always blame someone else.
