More Bernie / less Gerrymandering. [View all]

I just read an article in The Guardian (online) arguing that a gerrymandering contest would be a bad idea. The author offered several good reasons that made sense.

So what is the alternative? I say it is a focus on what people need rather than fund raising and finding an effective "message".
Remember, dollars are not votes. A corporation is not a person. Money is not protected speech. (In spite of the heavily corrupted Heritage Foundation owned Supreme Court.)

Sanders takes things a little too far, which is very unfortunate, but there are critically important changes he proposes that would absolutely make a difference in peoples' lives. Examples:
Medicare for all. Yes!
Free college for all? Not so much. This borders on nonsense.
Financial aid and low interest loans for college. Yes.
Support for affordable housing. Yes!

There are other issues not heavily focused on by Bernie such as climate survival.

And what about the national debt?
Bernie has proposed tiny fees attached to stock trades. Because there are large numbers of stocks traded lots of money could be raised from the world of big money rather than taxing modest income workers. Of course, the big money community opposes this. (Where does Schumer come down on this idea??)

There are Democrats (or trolls) who blab that Bernie refuses to be a Democrat. Party above good is what Republicans do. Democrats should not do that. Do what is good for people. I thing they (we) might like that.
