8. I happen to know that his wife suffered from an illness, acutely, at one time.

I have no idea if that information was publicly known or rumored when it was happening, but I believe it was. I assume he’s still with the same wife but I don’t keep up with his life ‘cause I don’t really care. It may be that he stumbled onto this new path while trying to find treatment for his wife. That is absolutely pure speculation on my part.
