"Russian politicians hail Putin-Trump summit as victory for Moscow" [View all]
This is the headline from an article from the Saudi news site "Al Arabiya" dated 08/16/25 with sourcing from Reuters. Andrei Klishas is a senior leader with Putin and he states:
"The meeting in Alaska confirmed Russias desire for peace, long-term and fair, said Andrei Klishas, a senior lawmaker from President Vladimir Putins United Russia party."
But everybody knows that peace is not the agenda of Russia and Klishas makes that fairly obvious in a further comment:
The tasks of the SMO will be accomplished either by military or diplomatic means, Klishas wrote, using the acronym for Special Military Operation, the Kremlins term for the war." Since Putin has rejected any idea of a permanent ceasefire the idea of using diplomacy as opposed to force is not likely to be in the cards. The leopard doesn't change his spots.
But an interesting statement by Klishas leads me to believe that more may have been afoot in Alaska than just Crumb The 1st playing stupid about Ukraine. Klishas said:
"A new architecture for European and international security is on the agenda, and everyone must accept it.
So we know the "old architecture" is NATO and so I am very suspicious that Crumb The 1st and his "Daddy" made further plans for a timetable for the US leaving NATO.
