Since 2018, 12 states have passed laws that eliminate all exceptions allowing child marriage: Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Michigan, Washington, and Virginia.
