I suggest he discussed the prospect of a personal minerals agreement, using Ukraine land that Ukraine will have to cede to get a peace deal, as well as other business prospects in Russia.
He thinks he set up a situation where the ball is in Ukraine's court to end the war by appeasing both Putin and Trump. Europe is portrayed in this situation as working against "peace" and prolonging the war.
He got to honor his hero again, which is the equivalent of a teenage girl meeting Taylor Swift.
He basked in the glow of being praised by Putin, and being told that he (Trump) won the 2020 election, that the voting system should be changed and other flattery.
In other words, Putin manipulated a corrupt moron with bribes and flattery that screws Ukraine, but will boost Trump's personal wealth and ego. As Trump said, they made "very good progress."
