That's why he was caught on a hot mic bragging that Putin wants to do a deal "for him". He sees it as impressive, and feels that the European leaders will be envious.

That's the level of thinking we have here. It's childish. It's scary. It's embarrassing.

I hope that in the private meeting the European leaders told him that putin does not want to do a deal for him. I hope they broke it down and explained to him like he is five that putin does not want to help anyone but himself and will never make concessions for peace or give up land without being forced
