The Oklahoma Department of Education will begin testing teachers who come from New York and California to prove they share conservative political views.

State Superintendent Ryan Walters, a vocal proponent of President Donald Trump’s MAGA ideology, told USA Today that the test will be used to make sure teachers from the largest Democratic-led states are not “indoctrinating kids” or “teaching things that are antithetical to our standards.”

Those standards include a curriculum that forces children to read the Bible and teaches high schoolers Trump’s lie that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, which Walters said was to avoid students being “spoon-fed left wing propaganda.” That curriculum, as well as Walters’ new “America First” test, was partially developed by the conservative media organization Prager U, which is known for its hyper-partisan video content.

Oklahoma teachers will reportedly have access to the test starting Monday, and all teachers from New York and California must complete it regardless of the subject they teach.
