Fascism IS here now [View all]
Father was a WW2 combat vet so I grew up believing that if the things that are happening in our country now ever occurred that at least the Democratic Party would be raising holy hell. That ain’t happening, not even close. Bless the people who are standing up, but we need the entire Democratic Party to stand up and start screaming about how far down the road of fascism we are. To break through to people who barely pay attention to the news we need the entire party to pound the table. We are trying to reach people who have no knowledge about sites like this.
I realize this is anecdotal but people who I speak with all say the same thing. Where are the Democrats? Again, there are some who are truly amazing, but the quietness of the majority of the party at this point in time is disheartening to say the least. We don’t have the money or the media infrastructure of the right which is why we need the entire Democratic Party to be screaming and pounding the table about what’s happening. Sitting back and counting on midterms that may or may not happen is not showing strength or warning people about just how dangerous the situation is right now.
Bless those Dems who are out front on this but considering that the party won’t even acknowledge that voter caging exists let alone implement it, while the Republicans have been actively employing it , is just one example of us sitting in the basement debating where to install a smoke detector while the freaking house is on fire.
