The only other figure I can remember being this obsessed with gold was [View all]
the Greek mythological king Midas. Everything he touched turned to gold.
It was great for a few hours until he got hungry and thirsty, but he couldn't partake because everything he touched turned to gold.
Initially, he considered a diet, but the shit hit the fan when he inadvertently turned his young daughter into a golden statue when he stroked her hair.
He had to pray to the god who gave him this gift to take it back.
