Because they only do the bidding of the filthy-rich.

The filthy-rich think they are gods and should be in control of everyone.

When you do the bidding of all your citizens, things like truth, justice and fairness are promoted. But if you only do the bidding of one type of citizen, then you get lies, injustice and unfairness because only one group of people really gets any support.
