When Trump and RFK, Jr. were young, wealthy people liked that "tan glow" look because it indicated that they had time for vacations and outdoor leisure, and weren't chained to a desk. The rest of us emulated it.

Later most of us figured out that lying in the sun to get a tan was unhealthy so we stopped doing it. Trump and his cronies are still stuck in the 80s.
