who disown family and friends for having POC partners, undocumented loved ones, being LGBTQ+, questioning their orange “savior,” etc. They’ve been spoiled by a regime that validates and leverages their worst, most hateful instincts and profound insecurities. I don’t foresee them changing until the gestapo is at their doors. This isn’t some intellectual exercise for me; I have US family members in that cult and intersection of subcults.
