Spurious News: Trump sued by Mel Brooks for intellectual property theft! [View all]

NEW YORK (Spurious News Network) -- The entertainment world was roiled today as legendary entertainer Mel Brooks filed a lawsuit against General Secretary Donald Trump, currently holding the office of president of the United States, for theft of Mr. Brooks' intellectual property.

The dispute centers around a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruiting poster that bears the words at the bottom "criminal record required." According to Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt, "President Trump needs people who aren't afraid to do what needs to be done to rid our country of the scourge of illegal immigration, and some of our best ICE agents are former violent felons."

Upon seeing the new poster, Mr. Brooks immediately called his lawyer. "In Blazing Saddles, we had a scene where the residents of Rock Ridge were fleeing town. When Bart asked them why, they showed him a poster Hedley Lamarr had printed up; at the top of it read 'Help Wanted: Heartless Villains for Destruction of Rock Ridge' and below that 'Criminal Record Required.' Trump's new ICE recruiting poster has 'Criminal Record Required' on it. I couldn't allow that to stand."

Mr. Brooks' list of demands includes one dollar per day in royalties for each poster distributed, the immediate destruction of all the posters, and the employment of an actor impersonating German dictator Adolf Hitler by the White House for the number of days the posters were in use. "I always work Hitler into my movies in some fashion. In Blazing Saddles he was having lunch in the Warner Bros. commissary. In Spaceballs one of the stunt doubles wore a Hitler moustache. In History of the World Part I I made him into a figure skater. And in The Producers he was a major character. If Trump wants to steal my IP he has to use the parts he doesn't like too." The White House suggested Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller as the person to play Hitler, which Mr. Brooks immediately rejected: "Isn't Miller like the reincarnation of Hitler anyway?"
