...has still continued to climb at a greater rate than inflation, but....
• Savings rates have fallen each of the last 3 months.
• Credit card balances continue to rise.
That isn't sustainable so, there may be a wider scope to the situation you observed. Not reflective of the overall economy, just yet. But, could certainly be coming.
