Two hundred yards is not an overly difficult shot. You need a sighted-in rifle and a steady aim.
Here's something to put it in perspective. I went to the Vermont History Museum next to the State House in Montpelier. A nice small museum divided into historical periods.
Anyway, there was a civil war recruiting poster for sharpshooters. One requirement was being able to hit a five-inch circle ten out of ten times at (you guessed it) 200 yards.
