I got to see the beauty of our country last night [View all]

I went to an MLB game yesterday, and it was "Hispanic Heritage night". Before the game, all the Hispanic players from both sides came out on the field with the flags of their home countries. Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela... There were others, but my memory ain't what it used to be.

Then our national anthem was sung by a Hispanic band from a local high school. Guitars, trumpets, and everyone in traditional Hispanic garb. I loved it. It was so good to see this celebration of that culture. I know that this could never happen in a red state. But in my blue State, we celebrate this diversity.

Oh yeah, the Mariners won.
