Yes, they are.

Unfortunately, we are going to suffer horribly when they do because no one wanted to prepare for the one thing that might give us pause.

Of course, we could forgo the greed addiction and start setting up community-oriented services that do not require currency so that when their attempts at control surface, we can laugh and let them know we do not need them to survive.

But...
