12. Patriarchal politics are still entrenched in the U.S.

It's a sad commentary on our political state of affairs. I can't believe the number of women who still believe in this, and I fear the younger generations are being groomed to accept that as well. A great deal of it is due to religious indoctrination, but there's still a sizable number who just aren't ready to hand the reins of power to a woman. It's totally ridiculous and without merit, but this country has always been averse to change, as "advanced" as they perceive themselves to be.
I sure as he'll don't understand it, but then again I don't understand Mr. and Mrs. middle-America, either.
