It's going to hurt Trump to lose, especially to someone as smarmy and arrogant as Comey.

Cretins like Trump, degenerate criminals, always try to drag people around them down to their level to justify their actions.

This is a mostly unrecognized political tactic of this newish Trumpian era - to encourage the opposition to abuse the law or a political norm in the cynical expectation their own destruction of laws and norms will be advantaged by some Democratic compromise of values we expect the administration to adhere to.

That's a really common tactic many people use in their everyday conduct to try and elevate themselves the easy way, without having to change their dirty habits.
