45. If the Mormons were smart, they'd reconsider their ties to the Far Right

If the Mormons were wise, they’d reconsider any ties they have to the Extreme Right. The Saints were widely persecuted in the mid—19 th century, and despite wishful thinking on the part of many LDS’ers and their leadership, the bigotry and hate directed at them way back when may have dwindled from what it once was, but it hasn’t died out. In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s abrupt departure from this mortal plane, those voices of hatred and religious bigotry are beginning to be heard again. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Mormons soon find themselves seated next to Muslims on the Radical Right’s hate list. Then they can relive their forebears’ persecution and calumny.
