They want 95% of the population, including their own VPs and lower level CEOs, in a state of perpetual economic uncertainty.
This along with a technology based surveillance state will ensure they remain on top so long as the Earth remains habitable.
Because supply side Jesus is coming back, and who cares if current civilization collapsed back into tribal scrabbling over remaining water and farmland. They'll be living on "forever" in their AI built bubble.
Doesn't matter if everyone hates them, the current set of wanna-bes get off on that. Their love of money and power has deluded them.
