they debated about what to do about a President who might use his standing military against individual States, oppressing the freedoms of its citizens. This is precisely why we have a 2nd Amendment, to resist a monarchical president. Preferably using a well-regulated militia, the freedoms of the citizens will be defended under the Constitution.
