1. It's a start!

My BIL and his wife used to be fairly apolitical. They had a mix of conservative beliefs but were fairly grounded in reality.

Since retiring five years ago they have Fox News on all day. They now believe a lot of nonsense. My BIL - a very large man, former athlete - now expresses "fear" of immigrants (they live nowhere near any border) and crime. He's convinced that cities are burning, etc. I haven't seen or talked with them lately but an obligatory visit is coming up. I dread it.
