It really bugs me when I see crap like this.

Curious about the context, I looked and looked to find the actual quote and date. It wasn't easy. All I got were repeats and repeats of this same comment. Finally - a better source. Turns out it is from a 30-second campaign ad titled, "Are you a racist?"

Vance in that ad:

"Are you a racist? Do you hate Mexicans? The media calls us racists for wanting to build Trump's wall. They censure us, but it doesn't change the truth. Joe Biden's* open border is killing Ohioans, with more illegal drugs and more democrat voters pouring into this country. This issue is personal. I nearly lost my mother to the poison coming across our border."

'Poison.' Not 'Mexicans nearly killed my mother.' So who changed the text to something completely different?

Vance made that ad for his senate run - in April of 2022! This is more than three years old! So why is it coming around again?

* As much as Vance and the Rethuglicans want to blame everything on Biden, his mother was stealing good old American-made drugs back when Clinton was president. Abuse of prescription opioids and heroin became long before Bush, Obama, and Biden. Fentanyl was the new kid on the block but not until 2012.
