In October 2025, Trump called China’s rare earth export controls "sinister and hostile," accused China of trying to "hold the world captive," and threatened massive new tariffs. He mentioned that he had "no reason" to meet Xi Jinping and called China's actions a "moral disgrace in dealing with other Nations."
