Dozens of Portland protesters donned inflatable costumes, from Pikachu to bananas, outside the city’s ICE facility on Saturday, turning President Donald Trump’s “war zone” warning into a colorful spectacle. Amid occasional arrests and pepper ball fire from police, demonstrators mocked the President’s claims, highlighting the largely peaceful nature of the protests. Oregon’s Democratic governor accused Trump of exaggerating events to justify National Guard deployments in Democratic-led cities.
