It is good that the living Israeli hostages are free. It is good that so many innocent Palestinian prisoners are free. It is good that Gaza will have a respite from the bombing no matter how long it lasts. And hopefully desperately needed humanitarian aid will flow freely into Gaza for now. And if the deal does break down that is just par for the course. Every so-called peace deal that has ever been negotiated since the founding of Israel has not lasted or at the very least has degraded. If this deal breaks down then that is nothing new. And of course the irony is that President Biden had a similar deal on the table but Bibi would not go for it. We could have had this deal months ago but Bibi wanted to wait so Trump could claim credit for it.
