(6,569 posts)And part of the con to make that all work is to convince people of a narrative that creates excuses for why Harris lost. (btw, same tactic used on 2016, re: Hillary.)
Harris didn't lose because she is black. Harris didn't lose because she is a woman. Harris didn't lose because of Gaza. Harris didn't lose because there wasn't enough time for a campaign. Harris didn't lose because there should have been a primary. Harris didn't lose because Joe should have bowed out earlier. Harris didn't lose because a few men stayed home. Harris didn't lose because of her cackle.
HARRIS DIDN'T LOSE!
It is important to understand that the next election has to leave no margin for error. All possibilities of some silly imagined excuse have to be eliminated. I wish this weren't true, bit for now it is. We need to save Democracy. We need to re-establish a free and fair election process. And then we can "take chances". We need a mandate! With a mandate they can't hide their cheating and the margins it creates.
I believe Joe Biden was able to show enough of a mandate that the cheating and rigging couldn't take hold.
And meanwhile, let's keep the consultant class away from the Democratic contenders in 2026 and 2028. The old ways will not work in this climate.
And next time(s) - Paper Ballot Hand Recounts.
The mandate is already visible - look at all the recent special elections. We have some Governor races coming up - they will be another barometer.
P.S. The don't work as hard at the special elections and local races.
