As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the National Hurricane Center says the odds of at least a tropical depression forming in the highlighted area are at 10% within the next two days and 30% within the next seven.

Both development odd values are increases of 10% as compared to Thursday afternoon.

It is important to point out that the Caribbean Sea isn't being monitored for any storms in the area now. Instead, the area is being highlighted in anticipation of the arrival of a tropical wave that's currently over the central Atlantic Ocean and moving westward.
