“All politics is local.” Ossé may have a big online following, but it’s the voters of Jeffries’ district who decide if he gets re-elected, not the DSA. If Mamdani has bigger ambitions than NYC mayor, he first has to do a hell of a job as mayor of NYC, or else his further political career will end up the same way as that of so many NYC mayors after they left office, i.e. nowhere. Wagner, Koch, Bloomberg, Giuliani, etc., never made it past Gracie Mansion.
