Yesterday WAS Hate America Day [View all]

Mike Johnson was right -- yesterday WAS Hate America Day. He just got it backwards: it wasn’t the “No Kings” protesters who hate America -- it's the Republican politicians who do. Classic projection.

The Republicans show their contempt for American democratic institutions and checks-and-balances by systematically undermining them.

They show their disdain for American law by letting ICE run rampant and empowering a strongman-wannabe to creep toward authoritarian rule.

They show how little they care about the American working class by failing to solve our health-care crisis, especially as the government shutdown drags on.

They even marked their “special day” by celebrating a grotesque AI-video of Donald Trump wearing a crown, flying a plane, and dumping sewage on protesters.

That video is the perfect metaphor for their Hate America Day: a celebration of Trump as monarch, abusing his power -- and how little they think of people they deem beneath them.
