Epstein's M.O. was to a use and traffic girls from low socio-economic backgrounds because the voices of such victims are less likely to be heard and believed. He knew he could not get away with improper behavior with any members of the Royal Family.

Whatever benefit which Epstein had enjoyed from his association with Fergie diminished over the years. She became a sponge whom he resented.
