"The Fourth Turning" by William Strauss and Neil Howe. It describes a four part cycle, which typically lasts around 80 years, and we are currently in a fourth turning. Things are bad now and the will undoubtedly get worse before they finally get better. The last Fourth Turning was 1929-1946, the Great Depression and WWII. We currently have Trump attempting to dismantle our Democracy, and it is not going to be fun fighting him and his cronies.
