9. The 7 million number was the number reported by the ORGANIZERS

In this case, it wasn't the mainstream media intentionally underreporting. My understanding is the No Kings organizers just reported the number of people who signed up on their website. They didn't want to be accused of overstating their numbers. I would assume these numbers from a poll are closer to the real total, but could also be overstated somewhat.
