'Going to get worse': Transportation chief Sean Duffy makes grim prediction about delays [View all]

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made a startling prediction Sunday that flight cancelations and delays in the United States were “only going to get worse” as the government shutdown reached its 33rd day.

Duffy sat down with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan Sunday to discuss the impact the government shutdown has had on transportation, particularly on air travel. While the Trump administration found funds to pay active-duty service members, it’s left air traffic controllers without pay, many of whom have now missed paychecks, even as Duffy continues to urge them to report to work.

Given the recent low-speed collision between two planes at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Brennan asked Duffy at what point would he consider the situation to become a safety emergency. Duffy said that his agency would halt air traffic altogether before air travel became a safety issue, but that delays and disruptions were largely outside of his control.

Hey Duffy you do have control .................you can tell every CEO, in the airline business that you are going to shut down the system, because there are not enough controllers ....................you can pull a Reagan and still not have enough.................because if the system is failing and everyone knows why its about "Public Safety" ..............ever hear of lawsuits against the airlines flying into this shit show knowing that it is dangerous are the CEO's just as stupid as you are...........
Again every pilot, mechanic, inspector, flight attendant, ground personnel should walk off the job for a week and see what happens in the maga Congress with the right wing hypocrites..........the airline industry is one of the top drivers in the economy...........and for criticizing Obama you really are fucking idiot..............I was working during that time frame as flight line mechanic .................you have no clue ...............what was your job description during that time frame..............
