Look back over the long thread of written history. More often than not, whenever there is massive social upheaval, genocidal warfare, colonization, etc, what you will find at the center of it is a charismatic, narcissistic sociopath ... and a mob of authoritarians who adore him. The list is endless. Alexander. Augustus. Caligula. Genghis and Kublai Khan. Mussolini. Hitler. Pol Pot. Stalin. Putin. I would go so far as to say this is one of the major drivers of human history.
