21. Greenland? Panama?

Danes agreed to seriously ramp up military spending in Greenland and in July '25 agreed to give the US more free access to Greenland. He still rumbles, but looking at the Russian bases and Arctic Ocean routes really does point out that the minimal staffing on Svalbard (which is pretty much a free port) and in Greenland are real weaknesses if Russia decides to do something bad after it's finished up doing the most recent bad things. The nuclear subs intended for the Atlantic are also a Real Bad Thing and between the subs and messing with Greenland they could make keeping the US and the rest of NATO actually united in any kind of useful logistical or economic way really difficult.

Panama pulled back seriously on cooperation with the PRC and exited the "Belt and Road" initiative in February; the Hong-Kong based operator of the ports at either end of the canal agreed to sell its interests in the ports to a US-based consortium. (The PRC objected strenuously, didn't follow the outcome to see if the sale went through.)

Some of this was reported here and pretty much sank into the Lethe, some never entered the room.
