What kind of government do we have that wants it's citizens starving and sick/injured? [View all]

I rarely get into the “outrage” or “indignation “ modes. But this business of risking kids lives, not to mention the other family members: grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters is just beyond my comprehension. Food is a basic necessity, not a choice. Besides being immoral and unethical….its monumentally disgusting. It’s a form of terrorism in my sense of the right and wrong spectrum.

How does a group, not just one person as a bizarre outlier, but an entire political party say “go hungry….die in the hospital parking lot”. What is that conversation like? I read that they want to “own the Libs”! Well the way to do that is offer things that all people need for their lives, their families, their sense of security and community, whether they are Libs or Magats.

Not everyone in our society wants, or needs, a golden toilet or a golden ballroom to party in. The warped nature of what’s being normalized is desperately despicable. My “outrage and indignation “ needles are bouncing on the pegs. I still remember Paul Ryan when he was Speaker of the House and complained about “eaters” referring to people actually consuming food. I thought then that that was just unbelievable. Not to mention Paul Ryan grew up on welfare benefits…so he was his own hater of self. Ronald Reagan complained about Welfare Queens buying steaks and loading them in their Cadillacs. It wasn’t true then and it’s not true now.

Now though we have elected officials complaining that SNAP recipients should stop smoking crack…perhaps the politicians should stop swilling alcohol….or snorting cocaine.
