the Congressional District (then PA-8 and now PA-1), which entirely includes the county, elected a (D) - Patrick Murphy - to the seat. Murphy was one of the earliest members of Congress to endorse Barack Obama for President in 2008. Unfortunately Murphy lost the seat in the 2010 GOP rout, and Mike Fitzpatrick (R) took the seat. When Mike opted not to run again in 2016, his brother Brian ran and won the seat and has been there ever since.

Time to end that dynasty!
