(76,114 posts)32. Those are hand split or cut granite cobbles that were installed over a bed of limestone gravel,
which was compacted in lifts, then had a layer of limestone sand over the gravel, all the time drainage
and grading was taken care of, then the cobbles were installed according to designed pattern, and
then sand was swept into the joints between the granite pieces to lock em into place. It was a work
of art.
