In reply to the discussion: So many victims. [View all]NightWatcher
(39,376 posts)9. Yours is a perfect example of the hyperbole that doesn't help the debate
1. I do not hold to a meme that as a gun owner I am in the top echelon of society.
I've never said anything remotely close to this, can you read?
2. I am not uncomfortable with controls on gun ownership.
I have advocated a reinstatement of the previous AWB and a prohibition on high cap magazines.
3. I do not support uncontrollable gun ownership.
Seriously, I dont know how you know all these facts about me (none of which are true by the way)
4. Why the fuck you would think that I should be on the NRA or Drudge websites is even beyond me?
Where do you see any of your opinions about me in this post?
What I find extremely constructive are the over the top, hyperbolic anti gun (owner) threads...
You know, the ones that liken gun owners to baby killers, or make it seem like if you own a gun you are actively waiting to shoot and kill someone, or some other highly moronic opinion.
Constructive debate on the "gun control" issue jumped the shark here about three days after the Newton tragedy and nothing good has come out since, either pro or anti.
We cant agree on guns here, but I'd like to think that most of us can agree that the "gun debate" has been beaten to a pulp and the carcass of the same said horse has been pounded to a mush.
Your post is what I am pointing to as not helping in the debate. All you did was name call and assign positions to me that I simply do not have and do not apply to me.
Thanks for playing, but FAIL

You say, "rabidly pro-gun crowd;" "INSANE;" "OVERTLY RACIST". Yea, that ought to help.

If only the other nine amendments in the Bill of Rights received this much attention.

From some of the stuff I've read, you would think Wayne LaPierre is a victim in this whole thing.
